Pray For America, Then Act

As a former Montana Legislator and a present Lobbyist for Montana Eagle Forum, I am deeply concerned about the moral issues facing our society today.

Never before in the history of the United States of America have we had to define “marriage”! Please pray for the passage of the Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This crucial legislation simply states that “Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman”. Neither this Constitution or the constitution of any state, nor state or federal law, shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups.”

In the State of Montana, we voted overwhelmingly during the last November election to define marriage in our state constitution as consisting only of the union of one man and one woman. Now it is time to pray and act on the federal level.

God says in His Word, “If my people, which are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

As well as praying, make sure to contact your U.S. Congressman and Senators regarding this issue. After failing to pass in both the U.S. Senate and the House in 2004, this legislation has been reintroduced and projected to come up for a vote sometime in 2005. Please stand in the gap for what is right in our nation and before God.
